Hike on Huskvarnabergen
A guided hike through beautiful Swedish forests and agricultural landscapes
As your guide, I will take you on an intimate journey where the conversation revolves around the planet’s boundaries, what we eat – now and in the future -, and where our food comes from. We will also discuss the influences from our history, such as why the landscape looks the way it does, the importance of a cultural landscape to ensure room for both raw material production and biodiversity, and outdoor life and wellness. “Huskvarnabergen” is located in the Biosphere Reserve Area, Östra Vätterbranterna, and you will get the chance to know its significance on the hike.
More about the experience
First, we walk through the orchards on Brunstorp’s farm. The path up the mountain is really steep in some places, which will give your legs a nice workout, and it is essential that you wear appropriate hiking shoes or boots.
When we get up the mountain, the enjoyment begins – a pleasant hike in slightly hilly terrain and past majestic lake views. We will continue through the agricultural landscape, and then hike down the mountain through the lush Ulva valley. The trail is about five kilometers.
This hike usually takes about three hours, including a lunch or coffee break, you will need to bring your own packed lunch.
NOTE! In some places, the path is only a few meters from steep rock walls without guardrails. Therefore, we do not recommend this hike if you have problems with balance, or have small children with you.
